This low-lying fertile land on the Ganges-Brahmaputra Delta is famous for its tempestuous monsoon floods and tropical cyclones. Bangladesh is still a developing nation but according to the World Bank, there has been progress made both economically and sociologically in recent years. It is one of the most densely populated countries in the world, has the longest beach (120km) and the largest mangrove forest, where the national animal, the Bengal Tiger resides.
