From the Andean mountain of Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Southern and Western Hemispheres, the vast, grassy Pampas plains sweep through to the sand dunes and cliffs of the Atlantic coast.

In the north, the deserts and rainforest of the Gran Chaco region have some of the highest temperatures on the continent; to the south are the cold, arid steppes, ice fields and glaciers of Patagonia. The capital, Buenos Aires, has a strong European flavour, a culture devoted to the arts and is the birthplace of the infamous Tango music and dance. Further inland, set in the foothills of the Andes is the green, leafy city of Mendoza, the capital of Argentina’s world-renowned winemaking province. A great place to arrange a multitude of outdoor activities, Mendoza is a haven for wine-tasters, climbers and ski enthusiasts alike.
