This East African nation of green savannahs, marshes and vast lakes is located on the northern shores of Africa’s greatest - Lake Victoria.
To the south-west, a unique composition of ‘vegetation zones’ in the misty, snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains provide vital habitat for many important species, including the endangered mountain gorilla. Independence from Britain in 1962 brought the brutal regimes of Milton Obote and Idi Amin, who squandered Uganda’s prosperity and murdered hundreds of thousands of its citizens. The economic growth and increasing stability of the past decade have been marred by pockets of unrest but this land has some shining examples of nature at her best and is certainly worthy of exploration.

Vooruitzichten
De vooruitzichten voor Oeganda.
Oeganda heeft een tropisch klimaat met een gemiddelde temperatuur tussen de 20 en 27 graden. `s Nachts koelt het lekker af tot ongeveer zestien graden. De regenseizoenen zijn in oktober, november en van maart tot en met mei. De ideale reistijd is van december tot en met februari en van juni tot en met september.
